Welcome Summer

Well, it's officially summer! So many fun things to do and see this time of year.

What's on your summer bucket list? Get inspired now!

2018 SUMMER BUCKETLIST

BEACH DAYS

We are so looking forward to taking our dog to our local dog friendly beach, throwing the ball around, playing fetch with a frisbee, and taking a dip in the ocean! Be careful with your dog around any powerful waves. If they've never swam in the ocean before, stay close by or go on a day that isn't crowded so they feel comfortable.

BBQ GOODNESS

Summer means outdoor parties with lots of delicious barbecued foods...yum! Remember to never give your dog any meat bones, as it could cause them to choke. If you want to give your dog a "cool" summer treat, check out this post. Watermelon makes a yummy, safe, dog-approved treat for summer; however, be sure to remove the rind.

4TH OF JULY

Perhaps our favorite holiday of the entire calendar year! Whether you have plans to travel or stay home, remember to always keep important safety tips in mind for your pet. Independence Day is the #1 day of the year that pets escape their homes and go missing/end up in shelters. Make sure your pet's ID tags are up to date and they have a secure collar on with a leash close by at all times. You can read more about 4th of July Pet Safety Tips by checking out our blog post here.

SWIMMING AT THE POOL

We love ourselves a long day at the pool enjoying the sunshine. Water safety is essential for a fun, care-free summer. Check out this blog post for information about how to keep your pet safe in the water at all times. It doesn't matter if your dog swims in a pool, in the ocean, or in a lake- safety comes first always!

A DAY OF BOATING

If you live somewhere near a large body of water, renting a boat for the day is so much fun. In our experience, all of our dogs go crazy for boat rides, too. You never know, something really cool might happen on the water...like this dog who witnessed a dolphin jump in mid air!

CAMPING TRIPS

If you have never experienced the great outdoors with your furry friend and a tent, you are totally missing out. Before you head out on your next camping adventure, be sure to refresh yourself with these summer camping tips to ensure you & your dog have a great time.

EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS

Speaking of outdoors, how about a nice hike together? If your dog is in great shape and in good health, taking him for a hike is the perfect summer activity. Make sure their collar, leash, and ID tags are all in good condition and bring plenty of drinking water for the both of you. Discover dog friendly hiking trails now.
